Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before launching your first QR code marketing game with QronoPlay.
How much does QronoPlay cost, and is there a free trial?
QronoPlay offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, giving you full access to all platform features to test in real conditions. After the trial, three plans are available: Starter at €9.90/month (1 active campaign, 500 plays, 4 games), Pro at €29.90/month (5 campaigns, 5,000 plays, 8 games, advanced analytics) and Business at €99/month (unlimited campaigns, 50,000 plays, all 14 games including QronoPass, priority support). All plans are month-to-month with no commitment — cancel anytime from your client area and your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. The Business plan also includes white-label custom domains, bulk QR code exports in PDF, CSV participant exports and real-time per-campaign statistics. Annual pricing with a discount is available on request for public authorities, retail chains and hospitality groups. Every feature is available immediately from day one of your free trial.
Is QronoPlay refundable if I'm not satisfied?
The 14-day trial is completely free with no credit card required, so you can evaluate the full platform without any financial risk. Once subscribed, you can cancel your plan at any time from your client area — your subscription remains active until the end of the current month and then stops automatically, with no cancellation fee or notice period. Consumers within the European Union benefit from a 14-day legal right of withdrawal after subscribing (EU Directive 2011/83/EU). Beyond this period, we review refund requests case by case: if you experienced a documented, blocking technical issue during your paid period, we may grant a credit or partial refund. To request a refund, email [email protected] with your client reference. Our goal is for QronoPlay to deliver measurable value from your very first campaign — the trial is deliberately designed to give you a complete, real-world experience so you can make an informed decision before committing.
Are QronoPlay prices in euros or local currency?
All QronoPlay plans are billed in euros (EUR), regardless of your country or region. French VAT at the applicable rate (20% for digital services) is added for private individuals and businesses without a valid intra-EU VAT number. EU businesses supplying a valid intra-EU VAT number benefit from the reverse-charge mechanism under the EU VAT Directive — VAT is not charged by QronoPlay in this case. Customers established outside the European Union are exempt from French VAT. A compliant monthly invoice (VAT number, address, net and gross amounts) is available for immediate download from your client area as soon as payment is processed. For public-sector procurement or organisations requiring a purchase order, email [email protected]: we handle quote-based orders with deferred invoicing. All prices shown on the pricing page are exclusive of VAT; the checkout displays the applicable VAT and final total before you confirm your subscription.
What kinds of games can I create with QronoPlay?
QronoPlay offers 14 marketing game formats organised into three categories. Chance games — instant win, prize wheel, digital scratch card, slot machine and prize draw — maximise engagement at the point of sale and drive opt-in volume. Skill games — interactive quiz, reflex game, speed quiz and challenge (HoleWall) — capture qualified customer data and extend interaction time. Discovery games — memory, sliding puzzle, card trick (Claw), bowling and BottleRing — add a competitive, replay dimension that increases return visits. Every game is fully customisable from the admin panel: logo, colours, prizes, win probability, time windows and all player-facing text. No mobile app is required — the player scans the QR code and the game opens instantly in their mobile browser (PWA). A new campaign can be created and published in under ten minutes. Game access varies by plan: 4 games on Starter, 8 on Pro, all 14 on Business.
How does the QronoPlay QR code work, and is it secure?
Every QR code generated by QronoPlay is cryptographically signed using HMAC-SHA256 with a unique secret key tied to your account. This signature prevents copying, duplication and tampering — a cloned or manually crafted QR code will be rejected by the game engine. When the player scans, the game page opens instantly in their mobile browser (PWA, no installation required), they play, and the outcome is permanently bound to that unique QR code in the database. You can generate QR codes in bulk — one per product, basket item or event ticket — for time-limited promotions, or deploy a single reusable QR code in your shop window for a permanent activation point. QR codes are exportable in PNG, SVG and PDF format, with configurable size and error-correction level. A real-time scan history (date, time, outcome, IP) is available in your dashboard for every campaign, and suspicious activity triggers automated anti-fraud alerts.
Does QronoPlay support multiple languages and my own branding?
Yes. The QronoPlay player interface supports five languages natively: French, English, German, Spanish and Italian. Language is detected automatically from the player's browser settings, and they can switch at any time from the game page. A single campaign can welcome international players in their own language — ideal for brands with European presence, cross-border events, or multilingual regions. On the branding side, every visible element is customisable from the admin panel: logo, primary and secondary colours, visual ambience (9 presets — Aurora, Neon, Minimalist, Brutalist and more), and every piece of player-facing text including buttons, win messages and legal disclaimers. The Business plan unlocks white-label custom domains — your game is served under your own domain name with no visible reference to QronoPlay. Custom fonts and header personalisation are also available on Business. White-label theming can be previewed live in the admin before publishing any campaign.
Is QronoPlay GDPR-compliant, and where is data hosted?
QronoPlay is fully GDPR-compliant (EU Regulation 2016/679): marketing consent is collected explicitly, granularly and with a timestamp before any email or SMS is gathered. Players can exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure and data portability at any time via a self-service link included in every communication. A processing register (Article 30 GDPR) is maintained automatically and is exportable from the admin panel for your DPA or CNIL audit requirements. All data — plays, opt-in contacts and analytics — is hosted exclusively in France with OVH (Roubaix and Strasbourg data centres), with no transfer to countries outside the European Union. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA, Article 28 GDPR) is available for electronic signature directly from your client area. Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) can be provided on request for sub-processors. QronoPlay is registered with the French CNIL and its privacy policy, terms and DPA are publicly available on the website.
How does QronoPlay prevent cheating on prize games?
QronoPlay's draw and reward engine runs entirely server-side, with a cryptographic signature on every result — it is technically impossible for a player to manipulate or predict the outcome from their browser. Each QR code is HMAC-SHA256 signed, binding it permanently to a single authorised play session and making duplication or forgery detectable immediately. Every play attempt is logged with IP address, browser fingerprint and timestamp, enabling detection of repeated attempts from the same device or network. An anti-collusion system monitors for unusual patterns — activity bursts, shared IP ranges, identical fingerprints across different accounts — and automatically blocks abuse. From the admin panel you configure your win rules with precision: global win probability, per-player time windows (e.g. one win every 24 hours), daily prize quota and overall prize cap. Real-time alerts notify you when suspicious activity is detected during a live campaign. All logs are retained for 24 months.
How long does QronoPlay retain player data?
QronoPlay's default data retention policy is 24 months for play records — outcomes, statistics and participation history — a period calibrated to support multi-season marketing campaigns and physical prize tracking. After this period, data is automatically and irreversibly purged with no manual action required. Opt-in contacts (emails and phone numbers collected with explicit consent) are retained until the player explicitly revokes consent: every email sent via QronoPlay includes a one-click unsubscribe link compliant with CNIL guidelines. From your admin panel you can configure a shorter retention period (e.g. six months for event-based campaigns), export all your data as a CSV at any time, or trigger immediate deletion to comply with an erasure request under Article 17 GDPR. Data belonging to players who have exercised their right to erasure is immediately anonymised and cannot be restored. A full audit trail of consent events and deletion requests is available for download at any time.
What is the difference between QronoPlay and Qualifio?
Qualifio is a comprehensive enterprise marketing platform designed for large organisations and media groups: its catalogue covers forms, quizzes, surveys, interactive games and first-party data collection, with custom pricing that typically ranges from €1,000 to €5,000 per month depending on modules and volume. It is a powerful solution for dedicated marketing teams with substantial budgets. QronoPlay is built for a different use case: physical, QR-code-triggered marketing activation at the point of sale, on packaging, or at in-person events, with transparent public pricing from €9.90/month and an immediate free trial with no sales call required. Where Qualifio excels at large-scale, multi-channel digital campaigns, QronoPlay leads on in-store animation, product labels, hotel check-in desks and festivals. For a retailer, vineyard, hotel or local authority wanting to launch a promotion in under an hour, QronoPlay offers the shortest path from idea to live campaign, with the legal safeguards required for promotional games in France and the EU.
QronoPlay or Drimify — which should I choose?
Drimify is a French gamification platform offering a broad catalogue of customisable HTML5 games, primarily deployed on web pages, email campaigns and branded digital spaces — its positioning is firmly digital and web-first. QronoPlay is built around the physical trigger: the cryptographically signed QR code (HMAC-SHA256) that links each game experience to a real-world object — a product, piece of packaging, event ticket or loyalty badge. This architecture enables native physical prize management (stock levels, daily quotas, in-store prize validation), a server-side draw engine compliant with French consumer protection law (Code de la consommation), and five-language native support. If your activation is primarily digital — newsletter, landing page, social media — Drimify offers a wider game catalogue. If it is physical — point of sale, packaging, hospitality, in-person events — QronoPlay integrates more naturally and provides the legal guarantees required for promotional games in France and under EU consumer-protection rules.
Why choose QronoPlay over Easypromos?
Easypromos is a Spanish platform specialising in social-media contests and sweepstakes: Instagram giveaways, Facebook draws, Twitter quizzes and UGC collection. Its strength is native integration with social APIs and rich reporting for community managers. QronoPlay addresses a complementary need: physical, QR-code-triggered marketing activation that operates independently of social-media algorithms and platform policy changes. The platform is hosted exclusively in France with OVH (no extra-EU data transfer), offers French-language support, and is natively compliant with GDPR and French promotional game regulations under the Code de la consommation. If your acquisition strategy centres on social media, Easypromos is well suited. If it relies on physical footfall — retail, hospitality, events, product packaging — QronoPlay is purpose-built for that channel, with dedicated tools for prize management, anti-fraud QR code signing, and CNIL-compliant opt-in collection. Both tools can co-exist within the same marketing mix, each addressing different customer touchpoints.
